My new pad
Before our last underday I managed to finally get the opportunity to move into my new pad. Its definitely a relieving feeling to be able to move all my stuff out of storage and into my first place since I’ve been in the Navy (outside of the hotels I was shacked up in during C schools). Its a nice little two bedroom, two bath with a full kitchen and a nice little balcony. Its taken me a while to get completely moved in (I only last week finally got a computer desk and internet), but its all coming along nicely and hopefully by new years leave period I’ll have everything set to dub this an official home.
With the return home from deployment brought dozens of new people to the ship, including our new LPO. One day randomly he asked “does anyone happen to be interested in buying a kayak? I’m trying to get rid of mine”. A few brief moments of laughter came from the rest of the people in the space followed by them explaining how I’d been in the market for the longest time and have empty kayak racks ontop of my car. After a few weeks of talking about it I finally now have the kayak happily in my living room (after an exhausting weekend transiting down the St. John’s River).
I also bought an xbox 360, Call of Duty MW2, and Call of Duty BO. I know I’m a bit late in the gaming world, but given my circumstances I don’t really have much time anymore for things like that. One of these days soon I’m going to buy a router so I can get on xbox live (stand by for my gamertag) so I can pwn some nubs from the ship.
