Gym rat

Since October of 2009 I’ve been on a spiral of losing weight and getting myself into a respectable billet of health. February 19th, 2010 I showed up to my first command weighing in at a staggering 220 lbs (around 32% BF). Went on deployment April 1st, 2010 weighing around 200lbs and returned weighing about 180 lbs (around 20% BF). April 1st, 2011 I went back on deployment weighing still around 180 lbs (brought down to around 18% BF), returning from this deployment I weighed a solid 155 lbs (about 16% BF).

As of January 7th, 2012 I measure in as follows:

  • Neck: 14.5″
  • Shoulders: 46″
  • Chest: 37″
  • Arms: 13″
  • Forearms: 10″
  • Waist: 31.5″
  • Hips: 36″

My  max:

  • Flat Bench: 155lbs x10 (around 193lbs 1RM)
  • Squat: 135lbs x 10 (around 189lbs 1RM)
  • Barbel Curl: 75lbs x 4 (around 82lbs 1RM)
  • Barbel Rows: 90lbs x 4 (around 100lbs 1RM)
  • Military Press: 100lbs x 4 (around 115lbs 1RM)

I plan on eventually adding another page to this site to track all this data in a more aesthetically pleasing manner, and I really hope to update this weekly.

back at it

Its been quite a few busy months, partially because there was a small hiccup on the server preventing an established connection. With that fixed i’ll be posting more regularly, especially now that I’ve gotten rid of my horrible Facebook account.

I’ve been able to break the kayak out a few times and took a few trips up to the Suwanee River and I even got to camp along the Florida Trail. I’m looking to maximize the amount I get in the trail so that I can decompress as much as humanly possible before my upcoming deployment.

I haven’t done much project-wise, although during our last underway I did a bit of updating and building on the recordKeeper program I’ve been toying around with for the past year or so. Its still a bit rough around the edges, but I’m expecting to smooth as much as possible out before I add anything else to it. Python has been taking up most of my time lately,a buddy of mine directed me to a site that’s teaching me the down and dirty without all of the erroneous bullshit that’s associated with learning a new language. I’ve dabbled with python before, but nothing to this extent and my main focus now is learning to develop more robust web applications with it than what’s conveniently doable with php. I’m also in the market for the android Transformer Prime and one of these days not only am I going to buy it but I’m also going to start developing little personal tools for it. I think it’ll be a great use of deployment time, especially since I’m hoping that this’ll be my last before I get out.this all will provide me with the comfort of getting ack into followng syntax and logical thinking as well as get me back into the running for going back to school and getting my BA in Comp Sci.
